Day 15 after leaving Neverlight Grove: During the travel portion of the day, the party comes across another Warning Sign, a drow insignia meaning “Demons ahead!” The rest of the day passes uneventfully.
Day 17 after leaving Neverlight Grove: At a major intersection, the party comes upon Pickshine Mine, where they meet its overseer Dasco Pickshine. He asks the group to accompany a load of ore to Blingdenstone as added security in exchange for a letter of passage into the city. He suggests that they might have trouble getting in otherwise due to some recent concerns.
Upon reaching the stairs and the main gate to the city, the group presents its letter, Jimjar as their guide, and the ore for delivery. A group of guards leads the party through the maze into Blingdenstone proper. In the reception hall, Sheena tries to pick a lock on a door to the west, but a guard stops him, guiding the group to the Traders’ Grotto.
There, Sheena cashes in some of her gems, and the party acquires some replacement crossbow bolts. As they go about their trade, two gelatinous cubes emerge from a tumble-down passageway to the west, lifting a screaming deep gnome high. The party attacks, defeating the two cubes, freeing the svirfneblin, and finding a short sword. Vermis claims the sword.
Continuing to the Ruby in the Rough, thinking someone at the temple can help identify the sword, the group meets Glyphic Shroomlight and the ghostly Burrow Warden Jadger, who asks the party for help. The party makes its way to the Staging Area, where Sark Axebarrel and his team let the party pass through the doors into Rockblight.
Meandering through some Abandoned Residences, the party encounters a ghostly presence who, after several rounds of combat, says, “They are coming! Everyone must hide!” before disappearing into a tumble-down hovel. There, the group finds a stone bed, a deep gnome skeleton beside it, its arm reaching under the bed.
There, they find a handful of gems and a potion. Thinking the remains might be those of Udhask, the group returns to Jadger, completing the first of two requests.
